Is 10k streams on Spotify good?
Spotify publishes no benchmark for a good stream count, and we have not found an independent one we trust, so we will not make one up. What 10,000 streams tell you depends on how they arrived. 10,000 streams from listeners who played once and moved on is a different result from 10,000 streams from a smaller group who came back and saved the song.
Two numbers from Spotify for Artists say more than the total: streams per listener, and the share of listeners who saved the song. Work both out in the save rate calculator and the streams per listener calculator.
10,000 streams across an EP
The 1,000-stream rule is per track, so the split across songs changes the money. If 10,000 streams are spread over a five-track EP at 2,000 each, every track earns and the EP pays about $30 to $50. If one track has 9,600 and the other four have 100 each, those four earn $0 and the EP pays about $29 to $48 (Spotify for Artists). The 1,000-stream rule page checks each track for you.
At the middle of the range, $40 is more than DistroKid's $24.99 yearly plan (DistroKid pricing), so the money covers the cost of staying distributed, not a release budget.
10,000 Spotify streams by listener country
Spotify pays from a separate pool in each country, so the same streams pay differently depending on where your listeners are. We only have named, dated figures for two countries: 10,000 streams from listeners in the United States pay about $39, and from listeners in Portugal about $18 (Ditto Music). Each is one figure from one source, so treat both as a guide.
For India, South Africa, Nigeria, the Philippines, the UK and everywhere else we have not found a per-country figure we can quote, so we do not give one. Your real audience is a mix of countries anyway: check where your listeners are in Spotify for Artists, and use the worldwide range unless most of them are in one of the countries above.

These convert the dollar figures (approx., ECB reference rate of 15 October 2026 (ECB)). They are not local pay rates: what a stream pays depends on where the listener is, and we only have sourced country figures for Spotify in the United States and Portugal. The ECB publishes no reference rate for the Nigerian naira, so there is no naira row. Pick a currency in the calculator above to convert your own result.
