Is AI music allowed on TikTok? TikTok's AI label rules

Yes, with a label when it looks or sounds real. TikTok requires creators to label realistic AI-generated content, can add an AI-generated label itself, and does not allow AI content that uses a private person's likeness without permission or fakes an endorsement. Auto-labelling since 9 May 2024, checked 15 October 2026.

What TikTok's AI policy says

TikTok's AI rules are about labelling and likeness, not about music in particular. We found no TikTok or SoundOn rule written just for AI-generated songs in the sound library.

In TikTok's own words

TikTok expects AI use to be disclosed. Disclosure in our table: Required.

Voice clones and sound-alikes on TikTok

AI content with the likeness (including audio) of private adults without permission, or of anyone under 18, is not allowed. Fake endorsements by public figures are not allowed.

Money: monetisation and stores

TikTok has not published an AI-specific rule on monetisation that we could find, so its normal payout and rights rules apply.

How TikTok's rules fit with your distributor's

Most artists do not upload to TikTok directly: a distributor delivers the song. That means two sets of AI rules apply. The distributor decides whether it will deliver an AI song at all, and to which stores, and TikTok then applies its own rules once the song is there. Check both before you plan a release, and keep the date you checked.

Rules change fast. Our verdict for TikTok: Allowed with disclosure, checked 15 October 2026. Before a release that depends on it, read the linked source yourself. Not legal advice.

Questions artists ask

Can you post AI-generated music on TikTok?

Yes, under TikTok's general AI rules. Realistic AI-generated content must be labelled, using TikTok's AI-generated label or your own caption, sticker or watermark.

Does TikTok label AI content automatically?

Sometimes. Since May 2024 TikTok automatically labels AI content uploaded from some other platforms by reading Content Credentials (C2PA metadata).

Can my AI song be in TikTok's sound library?

We found no TikTok or SoundOn rule specific to AI songs in the library. Your distributor's rules matter here: UnitedMasters says fully AI-generated material is not eligible for TikTok, and LANDR lists TikTok among platforms not accepting AI music.

Can I use an AI voice of a real person on TikTok?

AI content with the likeness of under-18s, or of adult private figures without permission, is not allowed, and neither are fake endorsements by public figures, as quoted from TikTok's pages via search snippets.

Does an AI label make any content OK on TikTok?

No. TikTok says it acts on content that breaks its Community Guidelines whether or not it was made with AI.
