We will begin adding "AI info" labels to a wider range of video, audio and image content when we detect industry standard AI image indicators or when people disclose that they're uploading AI-generated content.— Meta Newsroom: Our Approach to Labeling AI-Generated Content and Manipulated Media, checked 15 October 2026

How Instagram and Facebook's rules fit with your distributor's
Most artists do not upload to Instagram and Facebook directly: a distributor delivers the song. That means two sets of AI rules apply. The distributor decides whether it will deliver an AI song at all, and to which stores, and Instagram and Facebook then applies its own rules once the song is there. Check both before you plan a release, and keep the date you checked.
Rules change fast. Our verdict for Instagram and Facebook: Allowed with disclosure, checked 15 October 2026. Before a release that depends on it, read the linked source yourself. Not legal advice.
