An AI artist manager is a software assistant that uses a large language model plus your streaming, fan and release data to plan and draft your marketing. It is not a licensed manager and it takes no commission. It cannot negotiate, book or sign anything. What it can do is the planning and writing work that a manager often does in the first years of a career.
This guide explains what these tools do in 2026, where they stop, how they differ from a general chatbot, and what five of them cost. We build one of them, HANI, so we say where the others are stronger.
What an AI artist manager can do
- Plan a release. Turn a release date into a dated list of tasks. Our release checklist shows what such a plan looks like.
- Draft pitches and emails. First versions of a press pitch, a fan email or a bio, written from your details, for you to edit and send yourself.
- Read your numbers. Explain what your listeners, followers and top cities say and suggest one next step.
- Point to the right tool. Tell you whether a track suits a playlist, who covers your genre, or what to put on your press kit.
What it cannot do
- Negotiate a deal, sign a contract or speak to a promoter on your behalf.
- Run ads. Some products bundle ad tools; an AI assistant by itself does not.
- Guarantee streams, playlist placements or press coverage.
- Know anything it was not given. It works from the data it can read and what you tell it.
How it differs from ChatGPT
A general chatbot knows a lot about music in general and nothing about you unless you paste it in each time. A music-specific assistant is connected to your artist data, your links and your releases, and it is paired with tools that do the work. That is the difference that matters. We go through it in can ChatGPT promote your music and the wider landscape in AI tools for independent musicians.

Stage against MNGRS.AI
MNGRS.AI is the closest in what it bundles: an EPK, a smart link, pre-save and email templates alongside the AI assistant. Its regular price is about the same as Stage Pro. The main difference we found is language: its site is in French. If that suits you, it is a real option.
Stage against un:hurd
un:hurd is built around paid playlist pitching and automated ads, plus an AI writer. Those are things Stage does not do. It does not list smart links or a press kit, which Stage does.
How much does an artist manager cost?
A human manager usually takes a share of your income. Sonicbids' guide to management agreements puts the typical commission at 15 to 20 percent, and a JMW law firm article gives 20 percent of gross income, after some deductions, as typical. The base (gross, modified gross or net) and what counts as income vary by contract. The AI tools above run from nothing to about EUR 30 a month.
A worked example
Say you are releasing a single in six weeks. You ask the assistant for a plan around the date. A good answer is a dated list with a smart link and pre-save in week six, an updated EPK and press list in week five, an editorial pitch in Spotify for Artists at least 7 days before release (per Spotify's own guidance) and a fan email on release day. You then edit it, and send the pitches from your own inbox. The assistant saved you an afternoon of planning. It did not release the song for you.
When a human manager is the better choice
When you have offers to negotiate, shows to be booked, a label or publisher to deal with, or a team to coordinate. Those jobs need a person who can be held to account. Many artists use an AI assistant to prepare, and a human to represent them.
Frequently asked
What is an AI artist manager?
Software that uses a large language model and your streaming, fan and release data to plan and draft your music marketing. It is not a licensed manager, takes no commission and cannot negotiate or sign anything.
How much does an artist manager cost?
A human manager typically takes 15 to 20 percent of your income, per Sonicbids' guide to management agreements, with the exact base set by the contract. AI managers cost between nothing and about EUR 30 a month. Stage's HANI is free for 15 credits a month, and Pro is $9.99 a month.
Can AI replace a music manager?
Not entirely. It can do planning, drafting and analysis. It cannot negotiate deals, book shows or represent you. Many artists use it to prepare and to do the work between meetings with a human manager.
Is un:hurd an AI manager?
It includes an AI writer called Lyra, along with playlist pitching, automated ads and a fan hub. We did not find smart links or a press kit on its pricing page. It is closer to a promotion platform with an AI assistant than to a full manager.
