Spotify cover art size, with a free album cover resizer
Spotify's cover art page asks for a square (1:1) image between 640 and 10,000 px wide and tall, in JPG, PNG or TIFF, sRGB, and says not to upscale. Apple Music recommends 3000 x 3000 or larger (minimum 1400). So 3000 x 3000 JPG or PNG suits both. Check and resize yours above.

Most artists send one master file to their distributor, which delivers it to every store. A square 3000 x 3000 file meets every row above except the YouTube banner, which is a different shape. The resizer saves that master plus a SoundCloud file under 2 MB, a YouTube banner with your art inside the safe area, and a still Canvas.
Album cover size for DistroKid
DistroKid's help centre puts the minimum at 1000 x 1000 pixels and calls 3000 x 3000 square ideal, in RGB. It says smaller or rectangular art gets adjusted automatically, with a risk it will not look as you intended. Crop it square yourself first: drag the preview above to choose which part of a wide photo stays.
Do not upscale
Spotify's page says plainly: do not upscale images. Blowing a 1000 px file up to 3000 px adds pixels but no detail, and Apple asks you to avoid blurry or pixelated images. So the resizer never scales up. If your art is smaller than 3000 px, it saves it at its own size and tells you which platforms would still accept it. Go back to the original design file for a bigger export.
What to leave off the cover
Apple's artwork rules refuse advertising of any sort. Art must not be misleading about who performs, and it cannot reference competitors of Apple Music or the iTunes Store, or any URLs, logos or dates for future releases. Your name and the title are fine; a web address or a release date is not.

What size should Spotify cover art be?
Square, between 640 and 10,000 px, per Spotify's cover art requirements. 3000 x 3000 also meets Apple Music's recommendation, so it is the safe choice.
What is the album cover size for DistroKid?
DistroKid's help page gives 1000 x 1000 pixels as the minimum and 3000 x 3000 square as ideal, in RGB colour.
JPG or PNG for cover art?
Both work on Spotify and Apple Music. Apple asks for 100% quality, so save the JPG at full quality or use PNG.
Can I upscale my 1000 px artwork to 3000 px?
Spotify's page says not to upscale. Export a bigger file from your original design instead.
What size is a YouTube channel banner?
YouTube's help gives 2048 x 1152 px minimum at 16:9, with text and logos inside the 1235 x 338 px safe area, at 6 MB or smaller.
Is my artwork uploaded?
No. The image is read and resized in your browser and never leaves your device.
