Every December, Spotify for Artists hands you a set of share cards and, for a few days, your top fans are shown your name inside their own Wrapped. In 2025 that package launched on December 3 and included Super Listeners, Top Albums, Accolades and Clubs. The 2026 date is not announced. One thing is already different: the Clip you could upload to thank your top fans no longer exists, because Spotify stopped accepting Clips on June 17, 2026. This is the October checklist that still works.
The short answer
Wrapped for artists is a set of data stories inside Spotify for Artists, each with a share card. You get it on the same day listeners get theirs. In 2025 that was December 3, and you opened it by logging in to Spotify for Artists and clicking the Wrapped card on Home. Spotify has not published a 2026 date. The prep that matters happens in October and November, because listening is still being counted and because the profile your top fans will tap through to is the one you have on launch day.
Spotify's own 2025 prep list was: upload a Clip, set your Artist Pick, update your profile photo, feature merch, keep concert listings current, and create Countdown Pages for upcoming releases. In 2026 the Clip step is gone. Everything else stands.
What artists actually got in 2025
Spotify's artist blog listed four new stories for the ninth Wrapped for artists: Super Listeners (the monthly active listeners who stream your music more than anyone else), Albums, Accolades (songs that fit a moment, like a party or an early morning), and Clubs, which group listeners and artists by listening personality. Every story came with its own share card, in 27 languages. The full list is on Spotify for Artists and in the newsroom guide.
Two things did not come with it: any way to message those Super Listeners, and any way to know who they are. Wrapped tells you that a few hundred people streamed you more than anyone else. It does not give you a single email address. That gap is the whole reason to prepare.
The Clip is gone. Here is what replaced it
For 2025, Spotify told artists to upload a Clip by November 21 so it could appear inside their top fans' Wrapped feed. That route is closed. Spotify's support page now states: "As of June 17, 2026, new Clips uploads are no longer available." Clips you uploaded before that date stay live, and short videos continue only as countdown videos on eligible Countdown Pages. Full-length videos (music videos, live sessions, covers) are rolling out to eligible artists instead.
If Spotify announces a new way for artists to appear in fans' 2026 Wrapped, it will be on the artist blog in November. Until then, plan as if the only things fans will see are your profile, your Artist Pick, your Canvas loops, and whatever you post on your own channels the day it drops.
The October checklist
- Artist Pick. Pin the thing you want a curious fan to tap: a music video, your newest release, or an artist playlist. A Pick stays live for 180 days, so one set in October carries through Wrapped without a second thought. The image needs to be at least 690 by 500 pixels.
- Profile photo and bio. Wrapped traffic lands on your profile. If the photo is from two albums ago, fix it now.
- Canvas on your top three songs. A Canvas is a 3 to 8 second vertical loop, 9:16, 720 to 1080 pixels tall, MP4 or JPG, no talking or singing. Your Super Listeners will replay your top song during Wrapped week. Give it a loop.
- Countdown Page for anything dropping in Q1. If you have an album or EP coming and at least 3,000 monthly active listeners, you can create a Countdown Page with pre-save, tracklist preview and merch. Singles are not eligible. Details in our Countdown Pages guide.
- Concerts and merch. Spotify's own advice. Keep listings current so a fan who just learned they are in your top 1% can buy a ticket in the same tap.
- One link you control. Put a smart link with a fan email form in every bio before December. This is the only step that gives you something after Wrapped week ends.
Wrapped week itself
Share cards are made to be posted, so post them, but attach a reason to act. "Thank you for 48,000 minutes" gets likes. "Thank you for 48,000 minutes, here is the demo you have not heard, join the list to get it" gets fans you can email in March. Every Wrapped share should point at one link that captures an email, because the attention spike is three days long and your reach on the day after is back to normal.
Reply to fans who post their own Wrapped with you in it. Those posts are public and searchable by your artist name. A reply from the artist is the cheapest superfan moment available all year.
When is Spotify Wrapped 2026?
Not announced. The 2025 edition launched on Wednesday, December 3; the 2024 edition arrived on December 4 according to Official Charts. Plan for the first week of December and treat any specific 2026 date you see online as a guess until Spotify's newsroom posts it. We will update this page when it does.
Where Stage fits
The checklist above has one step Spotify cannot do for you: owning the fan. Stage Smart Links capture fan emails on every page and are free, the Email Agent lets you write to those fans in your own words, and the Morning Report flags your listener jumps the day they happen, which during Wrapped week tells you which share card actually moved people.
The honest summary
Wrapped is a gift of attention with no contact details attached. Set the profile up in October, skip the Clip because it no longer exists, and make sure every share card you post in December points at a page that asks for an email. That is the difference between a nice week and a list you can email in January.
Frequently asked
Can artists still upload a Clip for Wrapped 2026?
No. Spotify stopped accepting new Clips uploads on June 17, 2026. Clips uploaded before that remain live. Short videos now exist only as countdown videos on eligible Countdown Pages.
How do artists see their Wrapped?
In 2025, artists logged in to Spotify for Artists and clicked the Wrapped card on Home, on the same day listeners got theirs (December 3, 2025). Each data story had a share card.
What are Super Listeners?
Spotify's term for the monthly active listeners who stream your music more than anyone else. It was one of the new Wrapped for artists stories in 2025.
What should an independent artist do before Wrapped?
Set an Artist Pick, update the profile photo, add Canvas loops to your most-streamed songs, keep concerts and merch current, create a Countdown Page if you have an eligible album or EP coming, and put a fan-capture link in every bio so Wrapped attention turns into an email list.
When does Spotify Wrapped 2026 come out?
Spotify has not announced it. The last two editions launched on December 3, 2025 and December 4, 2024. Plan for early December.
